Hello, Lovely.

I am fortunate to live in the wild of the boreal forest, in a house my husband and I built ourselves. At any given moment, I can hear multiple species of winged friends singing somewhere between the land and the sky. These moments invite me into a space where nothing else matters. A space where I can feel each breath leaving my lungs and return to the present moment. It's intoxicatingly peaceful.

The other night, I was lying awake listening to a bird sing in the twilight of an Alberta summer. I whispered, "It's a Yellow Warbler," as if my husband hadn't dozed off five business days earlier.

This place has taught me to pay attention. To the birds, the changing seasons, the wind in the trees, and, perhaps most importantly, my own heart.

I've always been drawn to the power of human connection. To me, it's one of the greatest gifts we have. For as long as I can remember, I've carried a camera. It became a safe place in my upbringing, teaching me to quietly observe the world through a lens. Watching. Listening. Wondering. Always searching for meaning, purpose, and connection.

Only in recent years have I realized that I don't just witness stories, I carry them too. And sometimes, if a story is powerful enough, it ends up carrying me.

When I first dreamed up Hudson House Creative Co., I imagined a place where I could create work that sparks connection. Somewhere along the way, it became just another business offering just another service, and I slowly lost the spark that inspired it in the first place.

So I pivoted.

I've come to think of a pivot not as failure, but as evolution.

Hudson House is no longer simply a place to hire a videographer or photographer. It's a home for stories. Both the ones I'm invited to keep and, perhaps most terrifyingly, my own.

I want to create work that matters.

Work that strengthens communities. Work that helps shape voices worth hearing. Work that shines a light on the people quietly making a difference in the world around them.

If we need labels, then yes, I'm a videographer, photographer, and writer. I create headshots, branding imagery, documentaries, wedding films, and everything in between. But those are simply the tools I use.

For a long time, I thought of myself as a storyteller. Lately, though, I've realized something feels even more true.

I'm a story keeper.

I'm drawn to people, to purpose, and to the moments that remind us of our shared humanity. It is a privilege whenever someone entrusts me with their story, and I hope to carry it with the care, honesty, and respect it deserves.

You'll also find Forest Notes, a little corner of this website where I'm learning to share the quieter parts of myself. The essays that make me want to hyperventilate into a paper bag before I hit "publish." I chose Forest because this is where I process, where I think, write, question, and come home to myself.

The people I work with are never just clients. They are people doing meaningful work. People I want to champion. People with stories worth keeping.

I don't take that lightly.

Being trusted with someone's story is a privilege. I want to hold it with care, almost like catching a firefly: something alive, fleeting, and worth sharing before it slips back into the night.

If, somewhere along the way, my work helps someone feel a little more seen, a little more connected, or a little less alone, a little more inspired, then I'll know I've been a faithful keeper of the stories entrusted to me.

So, kick off your shoes and come on in.

Welcome to Hudson House.

I'm really glad you're here.
